Full Job Description

Job Summary
Lumen is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Life Skills Coach to support individuals with neurodivergent challenges, including those on the autism spectrum. The ideal candidate will be responsible for helping clients develop essential life skills, enhance their independence, and improve their overall quality of life. This role requires a strong commitment to fostering a supportive and empowering environment for individuals with diverse needs.

Duties

Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in various settings, including home and community environments.
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
Implement individualized training programs focused on skill development in areas such as communication, social interaction, and behavior management.
Utilize effective behavior management techniques to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
Collect and maintain accurate data on client progress and participate in regular staffings with the residential team.
Drive clients to appointments or community activities as required while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Provide medication administration when necessary, following all safety protocols and guidelines.

Experience

Previous experience working with people with developmental disabilities or autism is highly desirable.
Background in special education or social work is a plus.
Experience in behavioral health or caregiving roles will be considered an asset.
Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with clients and team members.
A valid driver's license is required for transportation responsibilities. We invite passionate individuals who are committed to making a difference in the lives of others to apply for this rewarding position as a Life Skills Trainer.

Schedule:
This position requires overnight shifts as part of a rotating weekly schedule. Residential Life Coaches work a consistent rotation of 3 days on / 4 days off, followed by 4 days on / 3 days off. During working days, staff remain onsite overnight in designated mentor housing to provide support, structure, and supervision to clients. This rotation provides predictable time off while ensuring continuous support within the Lumen residential community.
