Job Summary:
The Transportation Coordinator plays a key role in supporting Gold Creek Foods’ supply chain operations by coordinating the timely, accurate, and cost-effective movement of raw materials, ingredients, and finished goods. This role ensures transportation visibility across suppliers, internal manufacturing plants, third-party logistics (3PL) providers, and customer locations. The coordinator works closely with Logistics, Purchasing, Operations, and Warehouse teams to maintain shipment accuracy, resolve issues, and support continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Transportation Coordination
- Coordinate daily inbound and outbound shipments between suppliers, internal plants, 3PL warehouses, and customer destinations.
- Track shipments in real time and proactively communicate status updates, delays, and exceptions to internal stakeholders.
- Communicate regularly with carriers, suppliers, and drivers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve transportation issues quickly.
Systems & Documentation
- Enter, update, and maintain shipment and transportation data accurately in the company’s ERP system.
- Maintain transportation documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure purchasing and transportation records are properly filed and retained per document retention guidelines.
Cross-Functional Support
- Serve as a backup for Dispatch operations as needed.
- Support the Purchasing team with transportation-related coordination and follow-up.
- Collaborate with Operations and Warehouse teams to support unload scheduling, delivery planning, and dock coordination.
Continuous Improvement
- Assist in identifying transportation cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
- Support the development and maintenance of standardized logistics processes and workflows.
- Participate in problem-solving efforts related to shipment delays, carrier performance, and process gaps.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain coordination.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Skills & Competencies
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal) preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with ERP systems related to logistics or purchasing preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Primarily office-based; must be able to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods during the workday.
- Occasional light lifting (up to 25 lbs.) as needed.
- Occasional work in production areas requiring PPE (hairnets, earplugs, safety shoes, etc.).
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily in a professional office environment. This position may require occasional visits to production facilities or other operational areas. When present in these environments, employees may be exposed to varying temperatures, moderate noise levels, and active production operations.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
