Homemaker & Companion (Part-Time)

Compassionate Companions LLC

Pay: $15.50–$17.00 per hour (based on experience)

Hours: Up to 30 hours per week

Compassionate Companions LLC is a locally owned Homemaker and Companion Service dedicated to helping seniors and adults remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes throughout Alachua County.

Position Summary

Compassionate Companions LLC is seeking compassionate, dependable, and adaptable Homemakers & Companions to join our growing team. We provide non-medical homemaker and companion services that help seniors and adults remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes throughout Alachua County.

Every client is unique, and no two days are exactly alike. We are looking for caregivers who genuinely enjoy serving others, communicate effectively, adapt to changing situations, and understand that client needs always come first.

As a growing company, our policies, procedures, and processes continue to evolve as we strengthen and expand our services. We value team members who embrace change, maintain a positive attitude, and enjoy growing with our company.

Schedule & Availability

This is a part-time position offering up to 30 hours per week.

Because we provide in-home homemaker and companion services, our clients' needs determine our work schedules. Services may be scheduled at any time of the day or night, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight shifts.

Caregivers must be dependable, adaptable, and willing to work a flexible schedule based on client needs. Assignments may change as new clients are added or existing clients' care needs evolve. Flexibility, reliability, and a willingness to accept a variety of shifts are essential for success in this role.

Additional hours may become available as our client base continues to grow.

Responsibilities

Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support.
Perform light housekeeping and homemaking duties.
Prepare simple meals and assist with meal planning.
Assist with grocery shopping and running errands.
Provide verbal medication reminders in accordance with Florida Homemaker & Companion regulations (no medication administration).
Transport clients to medical appointments, errands, social outings, and community activities using your personal vehicle when needed.
Encourage client independence while promoting safety and comfort.
Observe and promptly report changes in a client's condition or home environment.
Complete required electronic documentation accurately and on time.
Represent Compassionate Companions LLC with professionalism, compassion, integrity, and respect.

Qualifications

Compassionate, dependable, trustworthy, and patient.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexible and able to adapt to changing client needs, schedules, and company processes.
Able to work independently and exercise good judgment.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid Florida driver's license.
Reliable personal vehicle.
Current automobile insurance.
Willingness to travel throughout Alachua County.
Willingness to transport clients using your personal vehicle when needed (mileage reimbursement provided).
Must have a smartphone with reliable internet access and be comfortable using mobile applications for scheduling, electronic documentation, communication, and clocking in/out.
Ability to pass all required Level 2 background screenings.
Comfortable working in a faith-based environment where Christian values are part of our workplace culture.
CNA certification is welcome but not required.
