Full Job Description

Express Employment Professionals is hiring an experienced Senior Staff Accountant for a manufacturing company in Gainesville, FL. This is a temporary assignment expected to last approximately 6–8 months.

This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on accounting experience who can step in quickly and support accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, reconciliations, financial reporting, and QuickBooks Online. Company has recently been acquired and is currently managing its books separately from parent company through QuickBooks, so QuickBooks Online Professional experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

The Senior Staff Accountant will assist with a variety of accounting and finance duties, including:

Posting and submitting invoices to customers
Tracking outstanding payments and handling collection follow-up
Preparing weekly aging reports
Maintaining accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and files
Reviewing invoices for proper documentation and approval
Assisting with check processing and vendor inquiries
Reconciling accounts receivable to the general ledger
Reconciling bank statements to the general ledger and ERP system
Assisting with monthly closing
Preparing financial reports, including daily cash balance, cash forecasting, AR roll-forward, customer backlog reporting, and other periodic reports
Supporting purchasing and inventory-related accounting activity
Performing other general accounting and office duties as needed

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have:

AA or AS degree in Accounting or Business with Accounting emphasis required
Minimum of 3 years of Accounts Receivable, collections, and financial reporting experience
Experience with QuickBooks Online Professional
Knowledge of GAAP
Strong Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Professional, reliable, and punctual work style

The job description requires an AA/AS in Accounting or Business with Accounting emphasis, at least 3 years of AR, collections, and financial reporting experience, and strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Outlook.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, with some extended hours or days as needed.

Pay

$28–$38 per hour, depending on experience.
