Full Job Description

Overview

The Public Relations & Social Media Specialist will be a full-time, in-person position based in Gainesville, FL, responsible for strengthening our external presence through strategic communications, media relations, and social media engagement. This role is responsible for executing content strategies, managing social media channels, supporting public relations initiatives, and increasing brand awareness across key audiences.

The ideal candidate has experience in public relations, social media management, and content creation, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts through compelling storytelling. This role requires a proactive and organized individual who can manage digital channels, support media opportunities, coordinate external communications, and contribute to initiatives that enhance FNN™’s visibility, reputation, and industry presence.

Responsibilities

Public Relations & External Communications

Support the development and execution of public relations strategies to increase brand awareness and industry visibility.
Draft and coordinate press releases, company announcements, media materials, and external communications.
Support media outreach efforts, including identifying relevant opportunities and maintaining relationships with industry publications and partners.
Monitor media coverage, industry conversations, and brand mentions to identify opportunities for engagement.
Ensure external communications align with FNN™’s brand messaging and positioning.

Social Media Management & Strategy

Own day-to-day management of FNN™’s social media channels, including LinkedIn, X, and YouTube.
Develop and execute social media content calendars aligned with marketing goals, company initiatives, and industry trends.
Create, coordinate, and optimize content including posts, graphics, videos, and other digital assets.
Engage with audiences, partners, industry organizations, and relevant stakeholders across social platforms.

Content Creation & Brand Storytelling

Translate technical information into engaging content that communicates FNN™’s technology, impact, and industry expertise.
Collaborate with internal teams to develop content highlighting company milestones, partnerships, events, customer success stories, and thought leadership.
Support the development of marketing materials, newsletters, blogs, videos, and other content initiatives.
Maintain consistency in brand voice, messaging, and visual storytelling across external channels.

Collaboration & Strategic Support

Collaborate with the Marketing and Sales team on campaigns, conferences, partnerships, and brand awareness initiatives.
Support content planning and distribution strategies to maximize reach and engagement.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to collect information, approvals, and assets for external communications.

Requirements

Work Experience

1–3 years of experience in public relations, social media management, communications, content marketing, or a related role.
Experience managing professional social media platforms, including LinkedIn, X, and YouTube.
Experience creating and distributing marketing content across social media, email, and digital platforms.
Experience supporting public relations initiatives, including press releases, media outreach, announcements, partnerships, or industry communications.
Experience using marketing technology tools, including social media scheduling platforms, email marketing platforms, content management tools, and collaboration platforms.

Skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences.
Strong storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
Knowledge of social media best practices, content strategy, audience engagement, and digital communications.
Ability to develop and coordinate engaging content while maintaining brand consistency.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
Familiarity with Canva for creating and editing social media graphics and marketing assets.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop or Illustrator, for collaboration with design teams and basic content adjustments.
Knowledge of social media management and scheduling platforms such as Buffer or similar tools.
Knowledge of email marketing platforms such as HubSpot, Mailjet, or similar tools.
Familiarity with workspace and collaboration platforms such as Notion.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
