Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Research Coordinator (CTI Study Coordinator) is the study's clinical and data anchor at The Melrose Center. Reporting to the Executive Director / Co-Principal Investigator, the Coordinator manages participant eligibility screening, baseline health metrics, cohort oversight, and study documentation for the FL-LIFE beta test, and serves as the site's point of coordination with the Mayo Clinic research team. This is a part-time (approximately 24–32 hours/week), grant-funded position through September 30, 2027, with continuation contingent on funding.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manage participant screening against IRB-approved inclusion/exclusion criteria (adults 21+, county residency, English-speaking, willing to use adaptive technology; excluding recent behavioral-study participants) and maintain screening logs
Support the informed consent process and participant onboarding assessments in coordination with the Mayo research coordinator
Collect and document baseline and follow-up health metrics (blood pressure, height, weight, BMI) and maintain accurate, complete study records
Provide cohort oversight across the 12-week intervention: attendance, participant status, protocol adherence, and data completeness
Plan and manage the clinical screening station at monthly health fairs and recruitment events
Operate the safety escalation / red-flag referral pathway, routing clinical concerns to the Melrose clinical team per protocol
Enter, verify, and quality-check study data; prepare data for monthly implementation reports (RW-03) and support RW-01/RW-02/RW-04 deliverables
Maintain IRB, HIPAA, and human-subjects compliance, including documentation of training and consent records
Contribute community-feasibility observations to the project's workstream meetings as requested
Support focus groups, post-intervention surveys, and study closeout activities

Minimum Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in a related field (public health, health sciences, nursing, social or behavioral sciences, or comparable), with study management experience — coordinating or supervising research study operations, protocols, and participant cohorts
Strong organization, documentation, and follow-through; comfort with spreadsheets and data entry systems
Completion of human-subjects research training (e.g., CITI) prior to participant contact, or willingness to complete during onboarding
Ability to pass a Level 2 background screening; reliable transportation; availability for occasional evening/weekend events (including first-Friday health fairs)

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate degree in a related field, with experience in translational and implementation science (moving evidence-based interventions into real-world community or clinical practice)
Clinical research coordination credential or experience (CCRC or equivalent); familiarity with electronic data capture systems and IRB-regulated studies
Clinical training or experience (e.g., LPN, RN, medical assistant) a plus for baseline health metrics collection
Community-based or rural health experience; knowledge of the Putnam/Clay County community and its health resources.

Pay: $32.00 - $36.00 per hour
