Job Title: Safety Training Coordinator/Regulatory Technician (2nd shift)
Location: Gainesville, GA – Safety Office (primary location, ~97% of time); occasional travel to other Gold Creek plant locations (~3%, generally within a 50-mile radius)

Position Summary:
The Safety Training Coordinator & Regulatory Technician supports Gold Creek Foods’ Health & Safety function by coordinating required employee training while providing plant-level safety, regulatory, and environmental support.
Working under the direction of the Safety Supervisor for safety and regulatory responsibilities and the L&D Content Creator for training responsibilities, this position coordinates annual safety, food safety, and Human Resources training; partners with plant leadership to schedule training; assists employees with the Learning Management System (LMS); monitors completion; and maintains accurate training records.
The role also maintains safety and environmental documentation, conducts routine inspections, supports regulatory and customer audits, and assists with incident response and follow-up activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Training & LMS Coordination
- Coordinate and deliver required safety, food safety, HR, and regulatory training for employees.
- Schedule training using system data in coordination with plant leadership to minimize operational disruption.
- Monitor training completion, maintain accurate records, and communicate attendance, completion, or documentation gaps to appropriate personnel.
- Assist employees with the Learning Management System (LMS), including those with varying computer or language skill levels.
- Facilitate training sessions in a clear and engaging manner, answer employee questions, and confirm understanding of key topics.
- Translate or update training materials as needed.
- Prepare training materials and maintain an organized classroom with functioning equipment, technology, and supplies.
- Support development and delivery of training related to Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Facility Hazard Analyses (FHAs), and other assigned programs.
Safety, Food Safety & HR Training
- Deliver awareness-level safety training on required topics (e.g., as Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Hazard Communication, PPE, forklift and pedestrian safety, bloodborne pathogens, etc.).
- Deliver assigned food safety training, including foodborne pathogens, cross-contamination, sanitation, allergens, and HACCP fundamentals.
- Deliver assigned HR training (e.g., benefits, EEO, anti-harassment, FMLA, and company policies).
- Maintain sufficient working knowledge of assigned topics to deliver training accurately and respond appropriately to employee questions.
Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Maintain safety and environmental records associated with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain documentation for programs including Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, Bloodborne Pathogens, and PPE.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS), chemical inventory records, environmental compliance documentation, permit tracking, refrigerant usage, emissions data, and applicable waste records.
- Support SPCC requirements and hazardous waste, universal waste, and used oil recordkeeping.
- Track compliance deadlines, corrective actions, inspections, and reporting requirements through completion.
- Assist with preparation of regulatory reports and participate in or coordinate regulatory inspections as assigned.
Inspections, Audits & Incident Support
- Conduct routine facility safety inspections and document findings, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
- Assist department leaders with identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
- Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.
- Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, customer audits, insurance inspections, and related follow-up.
- Participate in safety committee activities and maintain associated documentation and action items.
- Serve as a plant-floor safety resource during assigned periods.
Cross-Functional Support & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Safety, Environmental, HR, Operations, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and plant leadership to address training, safety, and compliance needs.
- Provide coverage for Safety & Environmental team members during absences or periods of increased workload.
- Identify outdated, unclear, or ineffective training materials and recommend improvements.
- Support orientation, onboarding, and other assigned safety, environmental, regulatory, or training activities.
- Maintain job-related knowledge and participate in professional development opportunities as appropriate.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None. This position has no direct reports.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or GED required. Additional coursework in safety, training, HR, communications, or a related field a plus.
- 1+ years of experience in safety, training, HR, employee support, or a related role preferred.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, food processing, or safety/environmental support preferred.
- Basic knowledge of safety and environmental regulations for industrial facilities preferred (OSHA, EPA).
- Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole required.
- Valid driver's license, current insurance, and reliable transportation required.
Skills & Competencies
· Strong verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation skills; able to clearly communicate safety, regulatory, and operational information to diverse audiences.
· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accurate, timely documentation and recordkeeping.
· Proficient in MS Office; able to learn Velocity EHS, MSDSOnline, and other company systems.
· Knowledge of industrial/manufacturing permits and regulatory requirements, as well as applicable Food Safety and Human Resources policies and practices.
· Collaborative team player who builds effective relationships across Safety, HR, Operations, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and external partners.
· Self-starter who identifies issues and opportunities, follows through on open items, recommends improvements, and works effectively with minimal direction.
· Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

· Willingness to travel to nearby Gold Creek locations as needed, typically within a 25-mile radius.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while presenting to groups.
- Ability to walk plant floors and climbing stairs to perform inspections.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, with or without assistance.
- Ability to communicate effectively, including speaking, hearing, and exchanging information in person and via email, phone or video.

Work Environment:
Work is performed in a combination of office and poultry processing environments. Employee splits time between a professional office setting and active production areas. Work in production areas may include exposure to:
- Cold, refrigerated environments (Fresh Processing)
- Warm or hot areas near ovens, fryers, or cooking equipment (Further Processing/Ready-to-Eat)
- Wet and humid conditions with floors that may be wet or slippery
- Moderate to high noise levels requiring hearing protection
- Raw meat products and strong food-related odors
- Common food allergens used in production, including but not limited to wheat, soy, milk, sesame and egg.
- Moving machinery, conveyor systems, powered industrial equipment, and sharp tools.
