Full Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Distribution Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating daily distribution and dispatch operations across a 6-county territory, ensuring efficient, safe, and customer-focused service. This position directly manages four Route Supervisors and 35–40 CDL drivers, sets a positive example for the department, and promotes teamwork throughout the distribution team. The Distribution Manager works closely with sales teams, warehouses, and fleet maintenance to keep routes and distribution operations running smoothly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Set a positive example and promote teamwork throughout the distribution department.
Manage and support four Route Supervisors and 35–40 CDL drivers.
Coordinate daily dispatches for delivery routes and dispatch of transport loads.
Work with the outside Pepsi warehouses to pick up transport loads and drop off shipping pallets with Chep.
Maintain frequent communication with sales teams across a 6-county area.
Monitor the GPS system for delivery and sales vehicles.
Coordinate with Penske technicians/mechanics on vehicle servicing and inspections.
Prepare and manage the yearly budget for the distribution department.
Administer and enforce PCVA policies and procedures.
Maintain a regular presence with route supervisors, drivers, and sales teams to ensure active engagement with daily operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Proven leadership ability with a track record of promoting teamwork and accountability.
Strong communication skills.
Professional dress and image to Pepsi of Central Virginia standards.
Skilled in multitasking, with strong attention to detail.
Experience managing supervisors and/or CDL drivers preferred.
Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint helpful.
Beverage industry experience preferred.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Required to sit; stand; walk; bend; reach outward and above shoulders.
Ability to travel by vehicle throughout a 6-county territory, including warehouse and route locations.
Regularly lift/carry or push/pull up to 25 pounds.
Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth).
Ability to work extended hours as needed to support dispatch and delivery schedules.
Must be able to occasionally work in outdoor and warehouse environments.
