Full Job Description

Introduction

We are one of several offices that provide eye examinations for Costco Warehouses in Virginia. Our Manassas location is open Tuesday through Friday 10 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9:00 am to 4 pm, with a 1 hour lunch break between 1 - 2 pm each day. Our team consists of one Optometrist and 1 or 2 staff member(s) at any given time.

Job Description

This open position will require experience with Medical Billing and Front Desk Reception. See "Duties" and "Qualifications for more details.

We are looking for a part time candidate, ideally for Tuesdays and some Saturdays, however other schedules will be considered on case by case basis. Please let us know your availability.

Candidates will need to multitask effectively and professionally in a small office space. Competent math skills are required for filing medical insurance claims, checking out patients, and taking payment. Ability to use and adapt to online scheduling software and Gmail is also a must.

Applicants with or without experience in the eyecare field will need to provide references for verification.

Duties
- Greet and welcome visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls, collecting patient information
- Schedule appointments and manage the patient roster

- Verify insurances benefits, submit insurance claims and verify payments

- Work-up patients, using office equipment and other technology

- Assist patients learn how to insert and remove contact lenses.

- Checking out patients and taking payment

- Filing Claims accurately and in a timely manner
- Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and photocopying
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages
- Provide general administrative support to staff as needed

Qualifications
- Previous experience as a front desk receptionist or in a similar role preferred

- Medical Billing experience preferred
- Familiarity with phone systems and office equipment
- Knowledge of medical office procedures is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in computerized systems, including data entry and using Google Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Professional demeanor and appearance, especially under pressure
