Performs and leads large test teams in documenting and executing integration, regression, and functional testing of complex and moderately integrated systems to ensure compliance with system requirements or use cases by following Navy Federal test practices and policies and utilizing approved testing tools. Writes technically complex level test plans. Conducts the analysis of functional and technical requirements and the creation and editing of test cases for new or modified systems. Detects and documents defects/bugs identified during testing and recommends prioritization for solutioning of defects. Provides coaching to peers on simple test practices. Runs and trouble shoots test automation scripts for systems under test. Works independently with discretion.
Responsibilities
- Create complex Test Plan documents utilizing Navy Federal testing standards, methodologies, and templates.

Perform complex analysis and interpret results; present recommendations, alternatives, risks, dependencies, and downstream impacts.

Ensure clear, concise, and effective communication of testing activities, including progress reports, defect reporting, risks, blockers, and testing status.

Coordinate and perform testing of complex systems during System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and end-to-end validation activities.

Participate in complex System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) activities utilizing SAFe Agile best practices and methodologies.

Participate in project estimation, planning, and sizing activities for complex projects, enhancements, and production support initiatives.

Serve as a subject matter expert for testing and automation engineering while mentoring peers and less-experienced staff.

Create, maintain, and execute complex manual and automated test cases using approved testing and automation tools.

Design and develop automated test cases with automation, scalability, maintainability, and reusability in mind.

Execute and troubleshoot complex automated test scripts across web, client-server, API, service-based, and mainframe applications.

Develop, maintain, and enhance reusable automation components, functions, libraries, and shared testing assets.

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise test automation frameworks supporting functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.

Implement and support Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) testing practices within Azure DevOps and related delivery pipelines.

Develop automated testing solutions for SOAP, REST, SOA, and microservice-based APIs.

Support cloud-native testing strategies, tools, and frameworks that improve scalability, efficiency, and delivery velocity.

Update automation parameterization files and troubleshooting scripts utilizing Navy Federal-approved automation frameworks and technologies.

Utilize advanced testing and automation techniques to identify root causes of defects and provide detailed findings to development teams.

Create and maintain required testing documentation including test plans, test results, knowledge articles, test evidence, sign-off documentation, and automation artifacts.

Document defects and manage issues through the established defect lifecycle processes and procedures.

Collaborate with peers, Developers, business partners and all other stakeholders to ensure business needs are communicated, documented, and satisfied

Perform analysis related to changes in policies, procedures, and products; determine downstream impacts on testing

Analyze and identify moderately complex process, data or technology improvement opportunities, provide recommendations to include risk considerations and downstream impacts

Provide recommendations related to testing practices to facilitate process optimization

Participate in project and product team meetings, collaborating and contributing while maintaining line of sight on goals and objectives
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, or test automation engineering.

Advanced knowledge of software testing methodologies, test lifecycle management, defect management, and quality assurance practices.
-
Advanced experience building and maintaining enterprise test automation frameworks.
-
Advanced experience with OpenText Unified Functional Testing (UFT), including framework development, script development, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Advanced experience implementing automated testing solutions for web applications, APIs, services, and enterprise platforms.
-
Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD testing practices within Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, Bamboo, or similar platforms.

Experience developing automated tests for REST, SOAP, SOA, and microservices architectures.

Experience designing scalable cloud-native automation solutions and testing strategies.

Advanced knowledge of automation architecture principles, reusable test components, and framework design patterns.

Experience utilizing test management tools such as OpenText ALM, Azure Test Plans, Jira, or equivalent platforms.

Advanced knowledge of databases and experience creating SQL queries to identify and validate test data.

Advanced research, analytical, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.

Strong knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and continuous testing methodologies.

Significant experience participating in cross-functional, enterprise-scale projects and Agile teams.

Advanced verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

Advanced organizational, planning, prioritization, and time-management skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within fast-paced environments and tight deadlines.

Advanced skill communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Advanced skill exercising initiative, judgment, and decision-making while solving complex technical and business challenges.

Advanced knowledge of Navy Federal products, services, business processes, applications, and technology ecosystem.

Experience working in enterprise IT environments supporting large-scale business applications.

ISTQB Foundation Level Certification (CTFL), ASTQB CTFL, or equivalent testing certification.

DevOps Institute DevOps Foundation (DOFD) certification or equivalent DevOps certification.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
