Full Job Description

Position Title: Technology Specialist
Location: Assigned by Director
Department: Early Childhood Preschool
Reports to: Director of EC Preschool, Regional Superintendent
FLSA Class: Non-Exempt
Revised Date: 08/26/2025

SUMMARY

The Technology Specialist supports the Regional Office of Education #33 by managing the technology and maintenance “work ticket” process, ensuring all requests are completed efficiently and effectively. This role is responsible for maintaining all aspects of technology infrastructure, coordinating with third-party vendors, and ensuring proper installation, setup, and maintenance of equipment and systems across the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and monitor the technology and maintenance “work ticket” process, ensuring timely completion of all requests.
Maintain network, desktop, and laptop hardware including setup, installation, configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Oversee the VOIP phone system, copy machine setup, and code management.
Coordinate all communication with third-party vendors regarding technology and networking projects.
Organize and ensure completion of all electronic recycling processes in compliance with regulations.
Order and maintain an accurate inventory of all technology equipment and supplies.
Support ongoing technology needs and provide troubleshooting assistance for staff as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & CRITICAL SKILLS

Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred; relevant certifications a plus.
Experience in IT support, network maintenance, or technology coordination required.
Strong organizational and time-management skills to balance multiple tasks effectively.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical staff.
Knowledge of inventory tracking and e-recycling processes preferred.
