Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Account Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of commercial landscape maintenance contracts while delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining high-quality standards, and identifying opportunities for account growth. This position serves as the primary liaison between clients, field operations, vendors, and management to ensure properties are maintained to the highest standard and contractual obligations are consistently exceeded. The Account Manager position reports directly to the Division Manager.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, customer-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management

· Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.

· Respond promptly and professionally to customer requests, concerns, and service issues.

· Continue consistent communication with clients through regular site visits and follow-up meetings.

· Maintain a professional, courteous, and service-oriented demeanor during all client interactions.

Sales & Estimating

· Identify landscape enhancement opportunities during routine property visits and through ongoing client communication.

· Meet with clients to discuss enhancement requests, evaluate site conditions, gather field measurements, and develop creative, practical solutions that align with the client's goals and budget.

· Educate clients on plant selection, material options, and long-term maintenance considerations to help them make informed decisions.

· Prepare accurate proposals and estimates for small-scale landscape enhancements, coordinating vendor and subcontractor pricing as needed.

· Manage enhancement proposals through the entire sales process, including revisions, client follow-up, scope clarification, and final approval until the project is awarded.

Project Management

· Manage the execution of small-scale landscape enhancement projects from proposal through completion.

· Coordinate scheduling, materials, labor, subcontractors, and equipment.

· Monitor project progress to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to company quality standards.

Quality Control

· Conduct routine and scheduled quality control inspections of assigned properties during maintenance operations.

· Ensure all work meets company quality standards, contractual obligations, and client expectations.

· Provide coaching, feedback, and on-site training to crew leaders and field personnel.

· Identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions in a timely manner.

· Perform irrigation system inspections, quality control evaluations, and minor troubleshooting.

Operations & Production Management

· Oversee the day-to-day production activities for assigned accounts

· Coordinate daily operations with the Operations Manager to ensure efficient scheduling of maintenance crews and enhancement projects.

· Assist with organizing the daily morning dispatch, ensuring crews are equipped with the appropriate personnel, equipment, materials, and job information before leaving the shop.

· Monitor production efficiency and assist with workforce planning to maximize productivity and profitability.

· Collect field production data to assist with budgeting, forecasting, estimating, and operational improvements.

Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination

· Solicit pricing from vendors and subcontractors for project-related materials and services.

· Coordinate subcontractor scheduling and oversee work quality to ensure project expectations are met.

Administrative Responsibilities

· Maintain accurate job documentation, site notes, and project records.

· Assist with estimating, budgeting, and profitability tracking.

· Support Division Manager with reporting, operational planning, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

· Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

· 3+ years of experience in commercial landscape maintenance, landscape construction, or related green industry management.

· Strong knowledge of commercial landscape maintenance practices, plant material, irrigation systems, and enhancement projects.

· Experience with estimating, scheduling, and project management preferred.

· Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

· Ability to effectively lead crews through coaching and accountability.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer software; experience with Aspire, LMN, or similar landscape management software is a plus.

· Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
