Full Job Description

The Boise Metro Chamber is currently seeking a full-time Events Manager. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing Chamber events. This role oversees all operational, logistical, and post‑event activities to ensure high‑quality experiences for members, sponsors, and community partners.

This is a full-time, exempt position, 40 hours per week.

Required Skills and Abilities

Proven negotiation skills with hotels, caterers, and other event vendors
Ability to prepare accurate event budgets and effectively manage expenses
Well-developed interpersonal skills with a focus on relationship management
Account reconciliation, data entry, and coding classification
Leadership and project management skills
Ability to problem solve, multi-task, work independently and meet deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational, planning, and time management
Flexibility to work a varied schedule
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe InDesign, and customer relationship management software)
Requires a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle with insurance and ability to travel to event venues throughout the Boise area

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and experience in event planning or related positions or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with a membership-based organization preferred.
