Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team. In this essential role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing a wide range of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help streamline daily operations, facilitate effective communication, and uphold the highest standards of patient care and confidentiality. Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, responding promptly to inquiries and directing calls appropriately
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance claims processing using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
Maintain accurate patient records by updating electronic health records (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks or Meditech in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical history, reviewing documentation, and ensuring all forms are completed accurately
Support clinical staff by preparing treatment rooms, managing supply inventories, and documenting care plans in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies
Perform clerical duties including filing, data entry with 10-key typing skills, and managing correspondence to ensure smooth office operations

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Receptionist in a clinical or dental office setting
Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and health insurance processes including Medicare and private insurers
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms
Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and clinic management software
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining professionalism
Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately and perform insurance verification procedures efficiently
Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Knowledge of dental terminology and clinical confidentiality policies is preferred
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management
