Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanical Flexographic Press & Rotary Die Cutter Operator for 2nd Shift. You will set up, operate, and maintain flexographic printing presses with inline or standalone rotary die-cutting equipment, overseeing runs from raw material to finished product with high quality and minimal waste.
Key Responsibilities
Press Setup & Operation: Read job tickets, gather materials/substrates, mount plates, install rotary dies, and calibrate web tension, registration, and impression pressure.
Quality Control: Continuously inspect print and cut quality, match colors using spectrophotometers, adjust ink viscosity, and check for registration defects or missing labels.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine preventative maintenance, clean press components (anilox rolls, doctor blades, dies), and fix mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
Material & Safety Management: Mix/adjust inks, manage unwind/rewind rolls, track inventory, and maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace adhering to PPE and safety standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Experience: High School Diploma/GED required. 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience setting up and operating flexo presses and rotary die-cutters.
Technical Skills: mechanical aptitude, basic math skills (imperial/metric), and ability to use QC tools (spectrophotometers, calipers, loop/magnifiers).
Physical Requirements: Excellent color vision, attention to detail, ability to stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
