We are seeking an Outreach Manager who is highly organized, relationship-focused, and eager to be in the community and connecting older adults and their families with valuable resources and services. This position plays a key role in expanding awareness of The Senior Source throughout the greater Dallas area by coordinating and implementing community-based outreach, educational programming, and strategic partnerships.
Summary
The Senior Source is the go-to resource in the Dallas community for empowering and equipping older adults and their loved ones to navigate aging. Since 1961, we have provided trusted services and support that help older adults age with dignity, purpose, and security.
The Outreach Manager will lead efforts to increase awareness, visibility, and utilization of The Senior Source's programs and services. This individual will work across departments to schedule, coordinate, and implement educational and outreach activities throughout the greater Dallas area, with a special emphasis on reaching underserved populations and communities with high concentrations of older adults.
This is a newly created position that will play a central role in The Senior Source’s three-year goal to provide 50% of our services away from our office and within identified communities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Community Outreach & Programming
- Serve as a primary representative of The Senior Source at community meetings, events, and partner gatherings.
- Deliver presentations and educational sessions on topics related to aging, caregiving, financial security, dementia, fraud prevention, volunteer opportunities, and other organizational services.
- Collaborate with program staff to identify outreach opportunities that align with organizational priorities and service goals.
- Develop and maintain an annual outreach calendar that provides The Senior Source's programs and services within identified Dallas area neighborhoods.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, faith communities, senior centers, libraries, municipalities, housing providers, and other stakeholders.
Visibility & Awareness
- Work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to promote outreach events and increase awareness of The Senior Source.
- Identify opportunities to elevate the organization's visibility through community engagement, partnerships, and public appearances.
- Assist with developing outreach materials, presentations, and community resource information.
Program Coordination & Administration
- Collaborate with program staff and other departments to coordinate and schedule educational presentations, resource fairs, community events, workshops, and outreach activities.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, contacts, presentations, and outcomes.
- Prepare regular reports regarding outreach efforts, community impact, and partnership development.
- Monitor progress toward outreach goals and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.
- Support organizational events and special initiatives, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in English and Spanish REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree required with specific focus in Social Work, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Gerontology, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
- Three to five years of experience in community outreach, community engagement, program coordination, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and community partners.
- Strong presentation, public speaking, and facilitation skills.
- Exceptional organizational and project management abilities.
- Experience coordinating multiple events, schedules, and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and customer relationship database management systems.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support community events, presentations and organizational activities.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout the greater Dallas area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with older adults, caregivers, or aging-related services.
- Knowledge of communities, organizations, and service networks throughout the greater Dallas area.
- Experience working in a nonprofit environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and transport outreach materials up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during community events and presentations.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodations
