Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgical Scheduler to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, extensive experience with electronic health records, and a comprehensive understanding of medical terminology and scheduling protocols. This role is vital in ensuring efficient surgical appointment coordination, accurate documentation, and excellent patient service.

Duties

Coordinate surgical schedules by managing appointments, preoperative preparations, and follow-up procedures using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Athenahealth.
Schedule procedures as directed by providers.
Answers scheduling phone line in a pleasant, professional manner.
Review and verify patient medical records, ensuring completeness and accuracy in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies.
Communicate effectively with patients, surgeons, hospital staff, and insurance providers via phone and electronic correspondence to confirm appointments and clarify procedural details.
Schedules and coordinates all out of office appointments.
Obtain surgery benefits, prior authorizations and prepare surgery aggreements.
Maintain detailed documentation of all scheduling activities, updates, and patient interactions while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Assist with billing processes related to surgeries by understanding CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding systems, and health insurance requirements.
Uphold clinical confidentiality policies while providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced medical office environment.Busy, fast-paced OBGYN practice looking for experienced surgery scheduler.

Minimum Education :

Computer skills
