Our client, a well-established and growing automotive dealership, is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join their accounting team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a variety of responsibilities and wants to gain exposure to both dealership accounting and title administration.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and customer service are equally important.

Responsibilities

As the Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for:

Processing vehicle titles, registrations, and related documentation in accordance with state regulations
Reviewing title paperwork for completeness and accuracy prior to submission
Following up on title discrepancies and resolving outstanding title issues
Maintaining title records and ensuring timely processing of all transactions
Assisting with accounts payable invoice processing and vendor payments
Posting accounting transactions and maintaining accurate financial records
Reconciling schedules, accounts, and dealership transactions
Assisting with deal posting and reviewing sales documentation for completeness
Supporting month-end close activities and general accounting functions
Responding to internal and external inquiries regarding title and accounting matters
Maintaining organized files and supporting special projects as needed

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should have:

1+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, administrative support, or title processing
Previous dealership, automotive, title clerk, or DMV-related experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of vehicle title and registration processes is a plus
Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a deadline-driven environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Experience with dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, etc.) is a plus
Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy
