Full Job Description

Job Purpose

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in supporting Ventegra’s financial operations by maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to timely financial reporting and analysis. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate, timely recording of financial transactions
Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
Perform complex balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
Build budgets and forecasts, tracking various lines of business and cost centers
Oversee and support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to ensure efficient processing and accurate recordkeeping
Assist with audits by providing documentation, explanations, and supporting analysis
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
Experience with accounting systems; Sage experience preferred
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field required
Two or more years of accounting or finance experience required
CPA designation preferred
