Sapalta, the heart of Plum Point Lodge on the shores of Seneca Lake, is seeking a talented and driven Kitchen Lead Cook to join our team and work under our Executive Chef, Dennis Young. At Sapalta, we celebrate the bounty of local farms, crafting dishes that honor fresh, seasonal ingredients and delight our guests with unforgettable flavors. If you’re a culinary leader with a love for creativity and a commitment to excellence, we want you to help us elevate our kitchen!

What You’ll Do:

Help Lead the Line: Maintain daily kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation that reflects Sapalta’s farm-to-table ethos.
Create & Inspire: Collaborate with our culinary team to develop innovative, seasonal dishes that showcase the best of Seneca Lake’s local farms and producers.
Drive Excellence: Maintain consistency in food quality, portion control, and plating while adhering to health and safety standards.
Mentor & Motivate: Help guide kitchen staff, fostering a positive, collaborative environment that fuels creativity and teamwork.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience in a high-volume kitchen, preferrable. Farm-to-table or fine dining experience is a plus!
Passion for Local: A deep appreciation for seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and a desire to showcase them in every dish.
Leadership Skills: A natural leader who can inspire a team, manage high-pressure situations, and maintain a positive kitchen culture.
Creativity: A flair for crafting dishes that are as visually stunning as they are delicious, with a focus on fresh, sustainable ingredients.
Reliability: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in a fast-paced environment.
Team Player: Someone who thrives in a collaborative setting and loves contributing to the success of the entire Sapalta team.
