Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Quality Control Manager / Machinist to lead our quality assurance initiatives and be able to fill in as a machinist if needed. This role combines hands-on machining expertise with strategic quality management, ensuring that all products meet rigorous quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will have a machining background and experience in implementing ISO 9001. Duties

Lead and coordinate quality control activities across manufacturing operations, including conducting regular quality audits and inspections to ensure adherence to ISO 9001, and other regulatory standards.
Develop and implement quality management systems and procedures aligned with industry standards such as ISO certifications specific to the location.
Perform root cause analysis on quality issues using analysis skills and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence; document findings thoroughly.
Conduct comprehensive quality inspections throughout the production cycle, ensuring compliance with required regulations and other legal standards governing manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and regulatory affairs to ensure seamless communication on quality standards and project requirements.
Be able to learn new manufacturing processes and train others on them.

Qualifications

Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with a strong focus on quality control and assurance.
Demonstrated expertise in operating machining tools and equipment within a manufacturing environment; familiarity with CNC machines is a plus.
In-depth knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001.
Strong understanding of quality inspection techniques including Gage R&R (Repeatability & Reproducibility), and SPC.
Effective communication skills for clear documentation.
Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills essential for conducting root cause analysis and implementing process improvements.
Experience in a wide variety of measuring equipment including CMM and hand gauges
