Full Job Description

Job Summary

Wiregrass Medical Center's Rehabilitation Center and Nursing Home is dedicated to providing compassionate and quality care to our residents in a nurturing environment. Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), where your expertise will directly impact patient well-being and recovery. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, efficient nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians.

Your responsibilities will include administering medications, monitoring patient health, and ensuring compliance with health regulation policies. This position offers an engaging environment where your skills in patient care, medical documentation, and health regulations will help create a safe and supportive setting for our patients.

Duties

Deliver direct patient care by assessing needs, administering medications, and monitoring vital signs with precision and compassion;
Maintain accurate medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations;
Assist in developing and implementing patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team;
Follow all health regulation policies diligently to uphold safety standards and quality of care;
Provide basic life support (BLS) and CPR during emergencies to stabilize patients until further medical intervention is available;
Educate patients and their families on health management, medication usage, and post-discharge care instructions;
Support nursing leadership by participating in team meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives;

Experience

Proven experience as an LPN or in a similar acute care setting demonstrating strong patient care skills;
Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology essential for accurate assessment and documentation;
Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems for efficient medical documentation and record management;
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times;
Certification in CPR and basic life support (BLS) required; first aid certification is a plus;
Prior nursing leadership experience is advantageous for those interested in advancing into supervisory roles;
Demonstrated understanding of health regulation policies to ensure compliance across all clinical activities.
