Full Job Description

Heaton & Venuti, LLP is seeking a self-motivated Legal Assistant to join our Geneva, New York office.

We are looking for hard working, motivated, friendly, detail oriented person who is open to learning new skills, enjoys working in a collaborative environment and who is well versed in Microsoft Word, Excell, and PDF editing. Experience in the legal field is a plus but not required.

The right candidate is someone who likes to work in a fast-paced environment, can take direction well, likes to be part of a team, and works efficiently and independently.

This position performs a variety of administrative duties including drafting correspondence, answering phones, drafting documents, organizing electronic files, manipulating PDF files, following a checklist of items to move legal files forward, and engaging in collaborative team-work with attorneys, co-workers, and clients. Along with other staff, this person will be responsible for assisting attorneys who work primarily in the area of Estate Administration, but will be called upon to assist in other areas, like real estate and business formation, as needed.

We are seeking applicants interested in full-time, in-person work at our Geneva office, however, we will consider part-time, flexible and remote work for the right person.

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements:

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Attention to detail and skill in proofreading complex documents

· Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to effectively plan work assignments to meet client and attorney needs

· Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks

· Able to work independently and set high standards for individual performance, while also being an active contributor to a team environment

· Competency using computers and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite is a necessity.
