Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead and coordinate nursing teams within our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will oversee daily nursing operations, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and foster a collaborative environment that promotes professional growth and high-quality service delivery. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while managing a dynamic team of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate nursing staff across various departments, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and organizational policies.
Oversee patient care activities, including assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Manage staffing schedules, conduct performance evaluations, and facilitate ongoing training to maintain a competent and motivated team.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and other healthcare regulations to safeguard patient information and safety.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop discharge plans, coordinate long-term care strategies, and optimize patient outcomes.
Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and medical records management.
Participate in quality assurance initiatives, incident investigations, and utilization review processes to improve clinical practices.
Provide mentorship in specialized areas such as ICU experience, dialysis care, behavioral health, or geriatrics to enhance team expertise.

Skills

Proven leadership experience in nurse management with supervision of multidisciplinary teams in acute or long-term care settings.
Extensive clinical knowledge including critical care experience, ICU experience, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine.
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation and patient management.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology principles, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards for accurate medical documentation and billing processes.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care environments is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills for effective team coordination and patient interaction; ability to work under pressure in fast-paced settings.
Knowledge of infection control practices including aseptic technique, sterile processing, catheterization care, and ventilator management.
Ability to manage complex cases involving tube feeding, IV infusion/insertion, medication administration, and pain management protocols.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS preferred for specialized units like PICU or neonatal ventilator care.
