Overview

SHR Talent is partnering with a healthcare client in Austin, Texas in its search for a Nurse Manager (EP Labs). This leadership opportunity will oversee the day-to-day clinical and operational performance of the Electrophysiology (EP) Laboratory within a high-performing acute care hospital environment. The Nurse Manager (EP Labs) will be responsible for leading nursing and support teams, optimizing procedural workflows, and ensuring exceptional patient outcomes while maintaining compliance with established clinical standards and organizational objectives.

This position serves as a key operational and clinical leader responsible for coordinating patient flow, supporting physician relationships, driving staff development, and maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency across electrophysiology services. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, procedural services experience, and a passion for delivering high-quality cardiovascular care in a fast-paced acute care setting.

The EP Lab Manager will collaborate closely with physicians, nursing leadership, cardiovascular services, and ancillary departments to support growth initiatives, operational excellence, financial stewardship, and a patient-centered culture. This role offers the opportunity to lead a specialized service line while contributing to one of Central Texas’ premier healthcare systems.

Responsibilities:

Lead daily operations of the Electrophysiology Laboratory and oversee clinical workflow, staffing, scheduling, and patient throughput
Supervise, coach, mentor, and evaluate nursing and support personnel, including performance management and employee development planning
Coordinate multidisciplinary care delivery with physicians and clinical teams to optimize procedural outcomes and patient satisfaction
Ensure compliance with nursing standards, clinical protocols, accreditation requirements, and regulatory guidelines
Monitor patient documentation, procedural records, and charge capture processes to maintain accuracy and operational integrity
Participate in department budgeting, financial oversight, inventory management, and resource allocation initiatives
Facilitate staff communication, educational programming, departmental meetings, and ongoing competency development
Support quality improvement initiatives and drive operational metrics related to safety, efficiency, and patient outcomes

Qualifications:

Degree

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline preferred

License(s) or Certification(s)

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required

Job Experience and/or Industry Experience

Progressive nursing leadership experience within Electrophysiology, Cath Lab, Cardiovascular Services, Procedural Services, or Acute Care Hospital settings required
Acute care experience required
Experience leading procedural teams and supporting physician-driven workflows strongly preferred
Demonstrated success managing staff performance, operational metrics, and department initiatives preferred

Software Skills

Experience utilizing Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR), cardiovascular documentation platforms, staffing systems, and Microsoft Office Suite required

Other Skills

Strong leadership, communication, clinical decision-making, operational management, budget administration, physician collaboration, staff development, problem-solving, and patient experience capabilities
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced procedural environment while maintaining exceptional standards of care and operational efficiency
