Full Job Description

Restaurant Operations supports the systems, routines, and leadership practices required to operate successful McDonald’s restaurants. We focus on food safety, customer experience, employee development, operational performance, and consistent execution across multiple restaurant locations.

What Will You Do as a Restaurant Operations Intern?

Gain hands-on experience in restaurant operations, leadership, and business management.
Complete structured training in the key areas required to operate a high-performing McDonald’s restaurant.
Develop professional, analytical, communication, and project-management skills.
Work directly with restaurant leaders on projects that have a measurable impact on restaurant performance.
Take on increasing responsibility as you complete training and demonstrate proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

As a Restaurant Operations Intern, you will support restaurant leadership in implementing systems, completing operational projects, and improving performance across multiple locations.

Assist with implementing operational systems, routines, checklists, and training programs.
Review restaurant reports and identify opportunities for improvement.
Track performance, deadlines, action plans, and assigned projects.
Prepare documents, spreadsheets, summaries, and leadership communications.
Support initiatives related to food safety, customer experience, staffing, training, and operational excellence.
Visit restaurants to observe operations, document findings, and follow up on priorities.
Help ensure that leadership systems and routines are carried out consistently across restaurant locations.

Requirements

Educational background: Current college student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in business, management, hospitality, operations, or a related field.

Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Computer skills: Basic proficiency with email, documents, spreadsheets, and web-based tools.

Attributes: Organized, dependable, proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.

Work style: Comfortable following written procedures, managing deadlines, accepting feedback, and taking on increasing responsibility.

Transportation: Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between restaurant locations when needed.
