Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced FSQA Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the Food Safety & Quality Assurance department in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment near the Atlanta Airport.
This role ensures that all production and quality activities meet or exceed company, customer, and regulatory standards with a strong focus on food safety, quality, service, and compliance.

Responsibilities

Supervise FSQA department staff, schedules, and daily tasks to support production, shipping, and receiving.
Maintain and verify HACCP, prerequisite programs, and Food Safety & Quality Plans according to SQF standards.
Implement and manage the company’s Food Safety and Quality Systems.
Conduct training for QA inspectors and production employees on food safety and quality protocols.
Evaluate QA team performance and recommend corrective actions when needed.
Maintain records in compliance with FDA, USDA, SQF, and company policies.
Support the facility’s environmental testing program to ensure compliance with all standards.
Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to prevent and resolve quality issues.
Manage product disposition for raw materials, in-process, and finished goods (test/approve/hold/reject).
Assist with root cause analysis, supplier issues, and customer complaint resolutions.
Support process improvements and plant trials as part of continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related field.
HACCP and GFSI certifications required; PCQI preferred.
Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, or auditing.
Strong knowledge of FDA/USDA regulations and food safety systems.
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Bilingual (English & Spanish) strongly preferred.
Available to work Sundays, holidays, and flexible hours as needed.

Work Environment

Cold, wet, and fast-paced food production environment.
Temperature range: 34°F to 38°F.
Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and cleaning chemicals.
Must be able to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
QA employees may be exposed to laboratory chemicals; proper PPE is provided and required at all times.

Compensation

$34 – $36 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
