Position Overview
J.R. Hobbs is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented, and relationship-driven Associate Recruiter to join our Human Resources team. This role supports full-cycle recruiting for a wide variety of positions across the organization, with a strong emphasis on recruiting hourly (non-exempt) skilled trades professionals for our construction operations.
The ideal candidate is passionate about finding top talent, delivering an exceptional candidate experience, and partnering with hiring managers to meet critical staffing needs. Experience recruiting field employees in the construction or skilled trades industry is highly preferred. Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, as this role frequently communicates with bilingual applicants and field employees.
What You'll Do
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for non-exempt positions across multiple departments.
- Recruit high-volume hourly skilled trades professionals, including HVAC installers, sheet metal mechanics, helpers, warehouse personnel, and field operations staff.
- Build strong partnerships with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and develop effective recruiting strategies.
- Utilize the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), HRIS, and other recruiting tools to maintain accurate candidate records and ensure compliance.
- Coordinate interviews, offer processes, pre-employment screenings, and onboarding activities.
- Maintain consistent communication with candidates to deliver a positive recruitment experience.
Qualifications
- Experience recruiting high-volume hourly (non-exempt) employees is strongly preferred.
- Construction, mechanical contracting, manufacturing, industrial, or skilled trades recruiting experience is highly preferred.
- Staffing agency recruiting experience is a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
- Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms such as Paycom, or similar systems.
- Strong interviewing and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple requisitions and priorities simultaneously.
