Junior Residential Plumbing Service Technician
2–3 Years Plumbing Experience Required | Paid Training | Path to Your Own Truck
We’re a family-owned residential plumbing company looking for a motivated Junior Plumbing Service Technician who already has some real plumbing experience and is ready to take the next step in their career.
Important: This Is NOT a Zero-Experience Position
You must have some plumbing experience to be considered for this role.
We are looking for someone with approximately 2–3 years of hands-on plumbing experience who understands the basics of the trade.
You do not need to be a master plumber. You do not need to know everything. You do not need to be perfect.
But you must have a basic foundation in plumbing.
At a minimum, you should:
- Know how to read and use a tape measure
- Know the names and basic uses of common plumbing tools
- Recognize common plumbing fittings and materials
- Understand basic plumbing concepts
- Have some familiarity with residential plumbing repairs and installations
- Be comfortable working with hand tools and power tools
- Have enough experience to assist a plumber without starting from absolute zero
Maybe you can do some basic plumbing tasks on your own but still need guidance. Maybe you’ve been working as a helper or apprentice and are ready for more responsibility. Maybe you understand the trade but haven’t had the opportunity to run your own service truck yet.
That is who this position is for.
If you have zero plumbing experience, no familiarity with plumbing tools or fittings, and no hands-on background in the trade, this is not the right position for you.
Basic Employment Requirements
Because this position will eventually involve operating a company vehicle, working inside customers’ homes, and representing our company in the field, applicants must also:
- Have a clean motor vehicle report (MVR)
- Be drug-free and able to meet company drug-screening requirements
- Be able to pass a criminal background check
- Be dependable, professional, and trustworthy
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable to operate a company vehicle
What the First 90 Days Look Like
You’ll start by riding with one of our experienced plumbers and assisting on residential service calls while learning exactly how we operate.
We have a simple, proven system and will train you on:
- How to run residential plumbing service calls
- How to use our iPad and software
- How to communicate professionally with homeowners
- How to diagnose plumbing problems
- How to present options and sell work
- How to perform repairs efficiently and correctly
- How to manage your day and operate your own service truck
Our goal is simple: train you, develop you, and have you ready for your own truck within approximately 90 days.
We are not teaching plumbing from day one. We are taking someone who already understands the basics and teaching them how to become a professional residential service technician.
What You’ll Be Working On
You’ll get hands-on experience with the full range of residential service plumbing, including:
- Water heater installation and replacement
- PRV replacements
- Water leaks and leak repairs
- Drain cleaning
- Fixture repairs and replacements
- Spot repairs
- Water and sewer line repairs
- Re-pipes
- General residential plumbing service and repairs
You’ll start by assisting another plumber, but the expectation is that you’re working toward becoming a standalone service technician who can diagnose problems, take care of customers, sell work, perform the repair, and take ownership of the job from start to finish.
Pay & Earning Potential
Training / Ride-Along Period:
Starting at $18/hour
Once You’re Running Your Own Truck:
Starting around $20–$23/hour depending on experience, plus bonus opportunities
That is our starting range for technicians—not your ceiling.
We want people who are hungry to grow. As you become a stronger technician, improve your communication and sales skills, take on more responsibility, and produce at a higher level, your earning potential grows with you.
There is uncapped earning potential for technicians who perform, develop their skills, and consistently take care of customers.
Think of the starting rate as the gateway into the opportunity. We’ll provide the training, structure, systems, and opportunity. As your ability grows year after year, we want your income to grow with it.
