Wesley Methodist Church is a movement of warm-hearted, Jesus-loving, and Holy Spirit-inspired believers which began in August 2023 and chartered on October 15, 2023. We currently have 365 members. We believe the Bible is the infallible Word of God and provides the light to guide our spiritual journey. We are a church committed to making and growing disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly.

Located at the intersection of two interstates (I-85 and I-185), this city is directly in the center of Georgia’s two largest metropolitan cities: Atlanta and Columbus; the area has been named “The Growth Corridor of the South.”
One hour south of Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, two hours west of Birmingham, and four hours from the Atlantic or Gulf Coast, LaGrange exemplifies big city life with a small-town atmosphere. LaGrange is noted for the strong work ethic of its citizens, the clean and progressive industries—from automakers (Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia) to batteries (Duracell)--that drive the economy, a burgeoning tourism trade anchored by the 26,000-acre West Point Lake and attractions such as Great Wolf Lodge, and a thriving business and retail base. Job Summary
Wesley Methodist Church of LaGrange, Georgia, is seeking an Associate Minister with the calling, character, and capacity to be considered as the church’s next Senior Minister through an intentional associate-to-senior succession pathway. The candidate will serve alongside the founding Senior Minister during an anticipated three-to-five-year period of shared ministry and leadership development.
This pathway is purposeful but not guaranteed. It will require continuing mutual discernment, doctrinal faithfulness, demonstrated fruitfulness, healthy collaboration, congregational trust, and participation in the Global Methodist Church’s consultative appointment process, culminating, if mutually affirmed, in an appointment by the bishop. The transition will be guided by written expectations, regular evaluations, mutually discerned milestones, and progressively greater responsibility as readiness and confidence deepen.
Duties
The Associate Minister will help shape Wesley’s next chapter through biblical preaching and teaching, pastoral care, disciple-making, evangelism, leadership development, strategic planning, and visible community leadership. Particular emphasis will be placed on engaging and discipling children, youth, young adults, and younger families while faithfully shepherding the whole intergenerational congregation. Responsibilities will broaden progressively as trust, fruitfulness, and readiness deepen.
Wesley seeks a leader deeply committed to Jesus Christ, grounded in the authority of Holy Scripture, thoroughly Wesleyan in theology and doctrine, and clearly aligned with the Global Methodist Church. The ideal candidate will be a faithful preacher, pastoral shepherd, developer of leaders, and servant-hearted visionary who can assume and exercise meaningful responsibility while helping the congregation make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, witness boldly, and spread scriptural holiness across the globe.
Essential Qualifications and Alignment
- An ordained Elder in the Global Methodist Church, or an ordained clergyperson from another denomination who is eligible and willing to complete the Global Methodist Church’s clergy application and transfer process; a Master of Divinity degree from an accredited seminary is required.
- Clear affirmation of the doctrines, discipline, moral teaching, and connectional order of the Global Methodist Church.
- A demonstrated life of prayer, biblical study, sacramental faithfulness, pastoral integrity, and holiness of heart and life.
- A strong record in—or clear evidence of exceptional potential for—biblical preaching, pastoral leadership, disciple-making, evangelism, and congregational trust-building.
- Readiness to relocate to LaGrange, Georgia, and become a visible, trusted pastoral presence in the congregation and surrounding community.

- An emotionally secure transition partner who collaborates well with the founding Senior Minister, exercises increasing authority with humility, earns trust through demonstrated fruitfulness, and is prepared, if appointed, to lead the congregation confidently into its next season.
- A pastor eager to invest personally in LaGrange, Georgia, represent Wesley Methodist Church faithfully, and serve both the wider community and the Global Methodist connection.

- a statement of ministry philosophy addressing Wesleyan theology and doctrine, preaching, disciple-making, pastoral leadership, and evangelism;
- links to two complete sermon videos recorded within the previous twelve months;
- the names, roles, and contact information of three references, including a supervisory leader, a lay leader, and a ministry colleague or staff member.
