Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Team Shift Lead to oversee procurement operations during designated shifts within our dynamic supply chain environment. This leadership role is essential in ensuring seamless purchasing processes, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and supporting inventory management strategies. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of ERP systems, procurement software, and supply chain management principles, enabling efficient coordination across multiple functions. This position offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated team, optimize sourcing activities, and contribute significantly to our company's operational excellence.

Duties

Supervise daily purchasing activities during assigned shifts, ensuring timely procurement aligned with production and inventory needs.
Coordinate with vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts, fostering strong vendor relationships and ensuring favorable procurement conditions.
Track inventory levels, and manage supply chain workflows.
Oversee inventory control measures, including stock levels, and logistics coordination to support production planning.
Support sourcing initiatives by identifying new suppliers, evaluating vendor performance, and conducting direct negotiation procurement efforts.
Analyze Excel data and spreadsheets to monitor purchasing trends, evaluate supplier performance metrics, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including logistics, merchandising, accounting software systems, and supply chain management to streamline operations.
Ensure compliance with company policies regarding contracts, pricing agreements, and vendor negotiations.
Maintain accurate records of procurement activities within purchasing management systems while supporting continuous process improvements.

Experience

Minimum of one years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles within a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
Proven expertise in using ERP systems such as SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS for materials management and procurement processes.
Strong background in supply chain management principles including inventory management, logistics coordination, and production planning.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and manage vendor relationship dynamics.
Proficiency in spreadsheet applications like Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
Familiarity with purchasing management systems supporting direct negotiation procurement and sourcing strategies.
Knowledge of contracts management, pricing strategies, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and e-commerce platforms related to procurement activities.
Excellent communication skills for vendor negotiations and internal collaboration across departments.
