Georgia State Law's Career Development team currently seeks applicants for the position of Career and Employer Relations Specialist. This position will cultivate new relationships and strengthen existing ones with employers and alumni to maximize student employment outcomes. This position will collaborate with the Assistant Dean and Director of Career Development.
Essential duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Recruitment and Communication
- Using data-based analysis of student career interests, design and implement a demand-based, inclusive recruitment strategy (job fairs, expos, panels, etc.; general and industry-based)
- Review student and employer feedback data to inform revisions to current recruitment strategy
- Research hiring trends to inform innovative offerings on emerging markets
- Evaluate and provide high-level oversight of externally-facing “For Employers” pages on the Career Development website
- Manage employer communications with support from Career Development teammates
- Provide high-level oversight of student recruitment communications and resource dissemination with attention to email volume
- Communicate with and advise students on current employer trends and feedback received from employers
Employer Engagement and Relationship Management
- Design and implement short- and long-term employer engagement strategy utilizing data on peer institution offerings, student career interests and prior employer relationships
- Manage outreach and marketing initiatives to attract potential employers that address student needs and demands
- Develop opportunities to more deeply engage Georgia State Law alumni as potential employers (e.g., more frequent solicitations of job postings)
- Identify, establish, and maintain relationships with relevant university partners
- Track employer data, including OCI funnel-related data and employer visits
- Create and maintain a method for communicating employer-related notes to students
- Organize student group visits to employers such as the GA Supreme Court and other state and local government employers.
- Manage outreach to state court judges and maintain a list of state judicial clerkship openings and deadlines
- Manage a student/employer “day in the life” program.

USG Retirement Options
- Optional Retirement Plan - ORP is a 401(a) Defined Contribution Plan. Employees contribute 6% and USG contributes 9.24% to the plan. Employees are immediately vested.
- Teacher Retirement System - TRS is a Defined Benefit Plan, a traditional public pension plan. Employees contribute 6% and USG contributes 20.78% to the plan.
Your retirement benefit is calculated by factoring years of service, final salary and 2% multiplier. Employees are vested after 10 years.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree and three years of related experience or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Requirements:

Knowledge of general job search strategies, advanced customer service and hospitality skills, problem-solving, public speaking, training, proficiency with database management software, and the ability to communicate effectively (writing, listening, and speaking).
