Event Bar Manager (Temporary / Event-by-Event)

Karma Live Music VenueWashington, DCKarma Live Music Venue is seeking an experienced and energetic Bar Manager to join our team on an event-by-event basis. If you thrive in a fast-paced nightlife environment, enjoy leading a team, and are passionate about delivering outstanding guest experiences, we'd love to hear from you.

Position Details

Position: Temporary Event Bar Manager
Location: Karma Live Music Venue, Washington, DC
Schedule: Event-by-event
Hours: Approximately 6–8 hours per event
Pay: $250 flat rate per event
Events: Typically 2–5 events per week

Responsibilities

Manage all bar operations during events.
Lead, supervise, and motivate bartenders and bar staff.
Ensure excellent customer service and guest satisfaction.
Monitor inventory and communicate restocking needs.
Ensure responsible alcohol service and compliance with DC liquor laws.
Handle cash, POS transactions, and end-of-night reconciliation.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards behind the bar.
Resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
Coordinate with venue management to ensure smooth event operations.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of bar management experience in a high-volume bar, nightclub, restaurant, or live entertainment venue.
At least 3 years of bartending experience with strong knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Ability to remain calm under pressure in a busy event environment.
Must be reliable, punctual, and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as events require.
Must meet all legal requirements to serve alcohol in Washington, DC.
