Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Waterjet/Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. This dynamic role involves operating advanced waterjet cutting and laser equipment to produce precise components and fabricated parts. The ideal candidate will be passionate about manufacturing excellence, safety, and continuous improvement. As a Waterjet/Laser Operator, you will play a vital role in transforming raw materials into high-quality finished products, ensuring efficiency and precision at every step of the process.
Duties
- Set up, calibrate, and operate waterjet cutting machines and laser engravers to meet production specifications.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to program machine operations accurately using CNC programming, CAM programming, and Fanuc controls.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety standards in production environments, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safety protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on industrial equipment.
- Measure finished parts using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure they meet quality standards (GD&T).
- Manage materials handling and fabrication tasks efficiently within the warehouse or factory setting.
- Document production activities accurately in shift reports and quality control logs to maintain traceability and compliance.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating waterjet cutting machines and laser equipment in a manufacturing or factory environment, or willingness to train.
- Knowledge of CNC programming, CAD design software such as SolidWorks or similar tools, and CAM programming for precise machining operations.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and press brake machines.
- Ability to read mechanical blueprints and interpret mechanical blueprints with GD&T standards for precision manufacturing.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with troubleshooting skills for industrial equipment maintenance.
- Experience with safety standards in production environments including proper use of hand tools, tooling, materials handling equipment like forklifts, and packaging procedures.
- Basic math skills are necessary for measurements and calculations related to machining processes.
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with factory workflows involving assembly line processes and fabrication tasks is preferred.

Pay: $22.50 - $30.00 per hour
