Job Overview
The RV Porter is responsible for supporting dealership operations by safely moving recreational vehicles throughout the dealership property, and local events, assisting with towing and positioning units, and maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of RV inventory. This role plays an important part in ensuring the dealership lot, service areas, and inventory remain organized, safe, and ready for customer viewing.
Key Responsibilities
RV Movement, Towing & Transportation
- Safely move, position, tow, and transport RV units throughout dealership lots, service areas, storage locations, and designated delivery locations using approved vehicles and equipment.
- Properly connect, disconnect, and secure RV units and towing equipment, completing basic safety inspections before movement.
- Transport campers, paperwork, parts, supplies, and other dealership materials between locations as directed.
- Report any damage, equipment concerns, unsafe conditions, or transportation issues to management.
RV Cleaning, Detailing & Unit Preparation
- Clean and maintain the interior and exterior presentation of new, used, and sold RV units.
- Prepare RV units for customer demonstrations, service appointments, display, and delivery.
- Complete final cleaning and detailing of sold units prior to customer delivery.
Lot Maintenance & Organization
- Conduct routine lot walks and remove trash, branches, debris, wood blocks, and other materials to maintain a clean and safe property.
- Keep RV inventory properly parked, organized, accessible, and presentable.
- Maintain clear and safe pathways for customers, employees, and vehicles and report lot conditions requiring attention.
Service Shop & Facility Maintenance
- Maintain clean, organized service shop, building, and designated work areas, including routine sweeping and trash removal.
- Replenish designated shop supplies and assist with general facility maintenance and organization as directed.
- Assist with moving, organizing, and storing parts, supplies, equipment, and materials throughout the dealership.
Operational Support
- Support Sales, Service, Parts, and Detail Departments with RV movement, preparation, transportation, and general operational needs.
- Monitor emails and daily communications for transportation requests, unit movements, and other assigned tasks.
- Assist with dealership deliveries, events, inventory movements, special projects, and other operational needs.
- Follow all dealership safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements when moving RVs, operating equipment, handling materials, and performing assigned duties.
- Maintain awareness of customers, employees, vehicles, equipment, and other potential hazards throughout the dealership.
- Complete assigned daily Porter responsibilities and follow the dealership's Porter Weekly Checklist and other task assignments.
- Maintain consistent standards for cleanliness, organization, safety, and RV presentation throughout the workday.
- Communicate incomplete or delayed assignments to the supervisor and work collaboratively with dealership departments to prioritize operational needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you need to know: Full time, 40 hours per week, 8am-5pm with potential over time. Rotating Saturdays. Travel may be required to local travel to various worksites and events as needed.

License/Certification:
