Full Job Description

Job Title: Inside Sales Estimator
Company: Insearch Trucking & Logistics
Location: Tempe, Arizona
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: President

Position Summary

In the construction aggregates field, an Inside Sales Estimator serves as the bridge between providing bid proposals and active customer relationship management. This role focuses on converting leads into sales by providing accurate material costings and maintaining persistent communication with contractors and project owners.

Key Responsibilities

Estimation: Analyze customer product requests, determine the appropriate sourcing of materials, and estimate trucking costs to supply materials.
Sales Follow-up: Proactively call customers to discuss submitted quotes, address concerns, and secure the "close". Track the status of bids in a CRM (Monday) to ensure no opportunity is missed.
Bid Preparation: Prepare and submit detailed cost estimates, including material costs, trucking logistics, and margin percentages.
Relationship Management: Develop and maintain partnerships with clients to stay on their "preferred bidder" lists.
Market Analysis: Monitor regional construction trends and competitor pricing to ensure bids remain competitive while protecting profit margins.

Qualifications

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering or business is preferred, or comparable relevant experience.
2-5 years of experience in the aggregate, paving, or heavy civil construction industry.
Ability to read and understand municipal aggregate specifications.
Strong mathematical aptitude to determine job costing and profitability.
Exceptional communication, including verbal acumen for telephone sales and written communication skills for formal proposal drafting.
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required for occasional site visits to evaluate project conditions.

Typical Work Environment

Primarily home-based with high phone and computer usage
Frequent local travel to construction sites, quarries, or client offices
High pressure environment with strict deadlines tied to public and private bid dates
