Full Job Description

Senior HR Generalist - Non Remote (Must be willing to reside/relocate in Gillette, WY)

Position Summary We are seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our growing

team. This is an impactful opportunity for an experienced HR professional who excels at

building scalable processes, operating independently, and serving as a strategic business

partner. As the sole on-site HR leader supporting approximately 30 employees, you will drive

the day-to-day human resources function while collaborating closely with the HR Leader of our

parent company to align local initiatives with broader business goals.

This role is responsible for overseeing the entire employee lifecycle—including full-cycle talent

acquisition, elevated employee relations, strategic benefits administration, compliance,

performance management, and HR operations. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader,

proactive problem-solver, and trusted advisor who thrives in an autonomous, hands-on

environment.

Essential Responsibilities

HR Leadership & Operations

● Serve as the primary HR subject matter expert and trusted advisor for employees and

leadership.

● Drive daily HR operations, proactively evaluating and modernizing HR policies,

workflows, and employee handbooks.

● Maintain confidential employee personnel files, HR records, and HRIS data integrity.

● Ensure strict adherence to changing federal, state, and local employment laws and

regulatory requirements.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

● Lead strategic, full-cycle recruitment efforts—from job description development and

candidate sourcing to interviewing, offer negotiations, and selection.

● Oversee pre-employment workflows, including background checks, reference

verifications, and custom offer packages.

● Design and execute high-impact onboarding and orientation programs that accelerate

new hire time-to-productivity.

● Oversee structured offboarding processes, conduct insightful exit interviews, and

analyze feedback to drive retention strategies.

Benefits & Compensation Administration

● Oversee the administration of comprehensive benefit plans (medical, dental, vision,

retirement, and supplemental benefits).

● Act as the senior point of contact for complex benefit inquiries, claims escalation, and

qualifying life events.

● Lead annual open enrollment strategies, employee education sessions, and vendor

management in partnership with benefit brokers.

● Partner with payroll to ensure accurate data flow, stipend tracking, and compensation

compliance.

Employee Relations & Performance Management

● Cultivate a high-performing culture by championing employee engagement and retention

initiatives.

● Provide expert coaching and advice to managers on navigating complex employee

relations issues, conflict resolution, and performance management.

● Guide leaders through performance review cycles, progressive discipline procedures,

and corrective action documentation.

● Partner with leadership to identify skills gaps and support organizational learning and

development programs.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

● Audit and maintain HR compliance programs, required workplace postings, and

mandatory reporting.

● Analyze existing HR systems and workflows to identify inefficiencies and execute

continuous improvement initiatives.

● Support audit readiness and data reporting for business leadership.

Strategic Partnership

● Operate with a high degree of autonomy while maintaining strategic alignment with the

parent company's HR Leader.

● Partner with executive leadership on local workforce planning, succession strategy, and

organizational change initiatives.

● Lead special HR projects and cross-functional business initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

● Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

required (or equivalent experience).

● Minimum of 4–6 years of progressive Human Resources experience required, with

demonstrated capability in an autonomous or sole-contributor role.

● Deep knowledge across core HR disciplines, including employee relations, talent

acquisition, total rewards, employment law, and performance management.

● Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, etc.).

● Advanced interpersonal, conflict resolution, and consultative skills with proven ability to

influence at all levels.

● Exceptional organizational skills, discretion, and executive presence.

● Proficiency with modern HRIS systems, ATS platforms, and Microsoft Office / Google

Workspace.

● SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification are strongly preferred.
