Job Overview

The Kitchen Team Member is a versatile member of the 1892 culinary team responsible for supporting every aspect of kitchen operations. This role includes food preparation, assisting on the line during service, dishwashing, cleaning and sanitation, stocking, receiving deliveries, and helping wherever needed to ensure an exceptional guest experience. Ideal candidates are dependable, eager to learn, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Duties

Assist in food preparation by slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following established recipes and safety standards
Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, fryers, and food processors safely and efficiently
Prepare meals according to menu specifications while adhering to portion control and presentation standards
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning and sanitizing practices
Support the culinary team in meal plating, serving, and catering events to ensure timely delivery of quality food
Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks, manage workflow, and uphold safety standards in production

Qualifications

Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques within a food service environment
Knowledge of safety standards in food production and food handling practices
Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Strong knife skills including slicing techniques necessary for meal prep
Experience with food safety management systems and recipe adherence
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and team members
Prior restaurant or catering experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
