Join Our Team as an Assistant Supervisor leading our Behavioral Health Crisis Services team in Monterey County.

Location: Salinas, CA
Schedule: Full-Time | Salaried (Exempt)
Salary Range: $85,000- $90,000 per year

The Monterey County Assistant Supervisor provides clinical and operational leadership for mental health and behavioral health crisis response services in Monterey County. This hands-on role ensures timely, effective, and compassionate care while maintaining compliance with county and state requirements. The Supervisor guides staff development, program operations, and community partnerships, and participates in the agency’s after-hours on-call supervisor rotation.

What You'll Do:

Roll out, lead and supervise crisis response staff at the Salinas site.
Oversee scheduling, training, and coverage to ensure 24/7 service delivery.
Review and audit documentation for accuracy and compliance with Medi-Cal, county behavioral health, and DHCS standards.
Foster a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and collaborative team culture.
Build and maintain partnerships with county leaders, law enforcement, and community stakeholders.
Provide real-time mental health crisis consultation and clinical oversight for complex cases.
Support employee engagement, coaching, and performance management.
Participate in after-hours on-call coverage (evenings, weekends, and holidays).

What You'll Bring:

Required:

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
Active California license (LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC), Associates (ASW, AMFT, APCC) working toward licensure considered.
3+ years of behavioral health or mental health crisis intervention experience.
2+ years of clinical supervision or program leadership experience in a behavioral health setting.
Proficiency with EHR and communication systems (SmartCare, Teams, Outlook).
Valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record.

Preferred:

Experience in a nonprofit or county-contracted behavioral health setting.
Strong knowledge of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practices.

Schedule & Work Environment:
