Full Job Description

CNC Machinist/Setup/Operators

A rapidly growing machine shop in Gilroy has immediate openings for:

Swing Shift - Mon-Friday 3:00pm to 11:30pm

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY

Setup/Operate HAAS and FADAL CNC Machines - vertical, horizontal, and 5 Axis
Recognize trends in machine performance and ability to make necessary adjustments to maintain stringent part requirements
Make suggestions for improvement in areas of cost reductions, processes, quality and productivity

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a minimum of 5 years setup and operations experience
Experience and knowledge of the capabilities and differences of various CNC Machines and their controls
Knowledge cutting aluminum and stainless steel
Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, indicators
Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures, speeds and feeds
Complies with established safety directives and protocols
Strong work ethic and team player
Able to set up and maintain a well organized, safe and clean environment
Ability to function calmly in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities simultaneously
Able to positively manage situations of a dynamic nature; to be able to modify plans, actions, and decisions in light of changing situations and circumstances while still meeting, or proposing modified, deadlines

PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be physically able to lift up to 40 pounds
Must be able to sit, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
