Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and a solid understanding of medical terminology. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to patients, particularly those in senior care settings or with developmental disabilities. The Medical Technician will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure that all patient needs are met with the utmost professionalism and empathy.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care, including assistance with daily living activities and personal hygiene.
Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for any side effects or reactions.
Document patient information accurately, including vital signs and changes in condition.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Assist in memory care programs and activities that promote cognitive engagement for patients.
Utilize knowledge of physiology to assess patient needs effectively and respond appropriately.
Engage with families and caregivers to provide updates on patient progress and address any concerns.

Requirements

Proven experience in caregiving or a related field, particularly in senior care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and physiology.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating independence when necessary.
Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not required.
Certification in medication administration is a plus.
