About the Role
The Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing Manifolds for liquid cooling application. Primarily, coordinating the daily operations of a highly skilled engineering team, ensuring alignment with company objectives and goals. This role involves providing comprehensive technical support to end users, architects, engineers, contractors, and distributors regarding the application of Tate’s products in both new construction and retrofit Data Center environments. The Engineering Manager also plays a key role in guiding the implementation of best practices aimed at maximizing energy efficiency and overall system effectiveness.
What You Will Do
Project Delivery
- Lead end-to-end execution of liquid cooling product development programs, from concept through validation, production launch, and lifecycle support.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and risk mitigation plans to ensure successful delivery of engineering objectives.
- Collaborate with customers, product management, operations, quality, and supply chain teams to align technical requirements with business goals.
- Facilitate design reviews, scrum process for project delivery, technical approvals from SMEs and third parties, and production readiness assessments to ensure products meet performance, cost, quality, and timeline expectations.
- Drive accountability within Engineering team and across cross-functional teams and provide regular project status updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Support customer engagements by providing technical guidance, design reviews, and engineering solutions for complex liquid cooling applications.
Technical Leadership & Subject Matter Expertise
- Serve as the technical leader for liquid cooling manifold design, coolant distribution systems, and associated structural components.
- Lead mechanical design efforts with a strong focus on reliability, design for manufacturability/assembly (DFM/A), optimize designs for scale production, serviceability, and performance optimization.
- Design, implement, and validate production fixtures, tooling, assembly aids, and test stations to improve productivity and repeatability
- Oversee/Direct structural analysis, pipe stress analysis, flow/ pressure-drop assessments, tolerance stack-up analysis, and design verification activities.
- Oversee pressure integrity validation, including leak testing, failure/reliability testing, in conjunction with Advance Manufacturing teams.
- Establish engineering standards, design methodologies, and best practices for liquid cooling products and manufacturing systems.
- Design, implement, and validate production fixtures, tooling, assembly aids, and test stations to improve productivity and repeatability
- Provide technical oversight for root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous product improvement initiatives. Including, collaborating with suppliers to ensure component quality, manufacturability, and readiness for volume production

- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team across design, manufacturing, testing, and quality disciplines including succession strategies for growth
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program Management teams.
- Conduct regular technical reviews, coaching sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities to strengthen organizational capability.
- Promote safety and customer first mindset and ensure compliance with customer specs, company standards, industry regulations, and engineering best practices.
- Drive adoption of advanced engineering tools, simulation technologies, automation, and digital manufacturing practices. Build processes, technical libraries and knowledge share across teams
- Develop long-term strategies for manufacturing & production readiness, proactive supplier capability verification/improvement, and engineering process maturity to support business growth and future product platforms
What You Will Bring
- A four-year degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Working knowledge with manifolds/liquid cooling infrastructure for the data centers and technical know-how of piping design is considered a plus.
- Foundational understanding of piping designs, valve selections, welding technology and related hardware is required.
- General knowledge of cooling technologies and strategies for piping layouts in the Data Center/ construction or similar environments is essential.
- Experience with structural, pipe stress, fluid flow & applicable regulatory spec compliance audits is advantageous.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Teams is essential. Proficiency with CFD/FEA software is a desired
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
- Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Proven supervisory and leadership abilities, with a focus on team development and operational efficiency.
