Full Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Don’t miss this rare chance to join the Culinary Team at Dover Hall Experiences and train under Virginia’s Chef of the Year. Openings in this department are few and far between!

With assistance from the Executive Chef, you will lead culinary operations and manage the kitchen team at Bartizan, the sister location to Dover Hall. This position is a great opportunity to join an amazing team while showcasing your personal management & culinary skillset.

THE ROLE:

Prep and execute scratch made cuisine for all private events at Bartizan. Assist with events at Dover Hall and 7 Lady Vineyards as needed.
Lead the team in daily prep/execution and assist the Event Management & Sales team with culinary requests.
Plan for upcoming scheduled events and be able to adapt for last minute pop up bookings.
Manage all ordering, prep lists, kitchen maintenance, and other occurring responsibilities/issues at Bartizan.
Assist the Executive Chef with team leadership, menu development, staff training, etc.

YOUR REQUIRED SKILL SET:

Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment while leading a team with a calm and collected composure. Communicate with Event Managers and Sales Managers to assist with menu planning and adherence to the event timeline. Ability to work with the Executive Chef to establish a well functioning and positive work environment. Understanding of culinary techniques. Minimum of 6 years of kitchen experience, including knowledge of event execution and at least 3 years of kitchen management experience. Serv-Safe Certification is required.
