FurBabies & Friends is an award-winning, 5-star-rated professional pet care company serving Glendale and the Phoenix West Valley. As our client base continues to grow, we are expanding our team and looking for reliable, detail-oriented Pet Sitters to provide drop-in visits, overnight pet sitting, dog walking, and other in-home pet care services.
We are particularly interested in applicants with availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, overnight stays, holidays, and peak travel periods. We are hiring multiple independent contractors with different availability profiles, so you do not need to be available for every type of assignment.
This is not a casual “play with puppies” opportunity. Our clients trust us with their pets, homes, keys, access information, and personal property. Their pets may include dogs, cats, puppies, senior pets, multi-pet households, and animals with individual behavioral or medical care needs.
We are looking for people who are dependable, professional, observant, communicative, and committed to following care instructions exactly.
This independent contractor opportunity can be a strong fit for individuals seeking flexible supplemental income while working independently and providing professional care to pets throughout the West Valley.
Responsibilities
- Complete scheduled drop-in pet sitting visits, including feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, playtime, enrichment, litter box care, and basic home-care tasks
- Provide overnight pet sitting in clients’ homes when accepting overnight assignments
- Provide dog walks and exercise visits based on individual pets’ needs
- Follow detailed client care instructions, household procedures, and applicable training or handling guidelines
- Safely interact with pets of different sizes, ages, energy levels, temperaments, and handling needs
- Administer routine medications when included in a pet’s care instructions and within your comfort and experience level
- Observe pets for changes in behavior, appetite, mobility, elimination, or general well-being and promptly communicate concerns
- Provide clients with timely visit reports, notes, photos, and updates
- Maintain clean pet-care areas, including food preparation areas, litter boxes, crates, and pet waste
- Respect client privacy and responsibly handle home access information, keys, alarm systems, and entry instructions
- Arrive within scheduled service windows and communicate proactively if an unexpected issue occurs
- Maintain professional communication with clients and the FurBabies & Friends team
Requirements
- Reliable personal transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Smartphone with reliable data access for scheduling, communication, photos, and visit reports
- Comfortable traveling between clients’ homes throughout your accepted service area
- Comfortable working independently inside clients’ homes
- Ability to safely walk, handle, and care for pets of different sizes and energy levels
- Ability to perform normal physical pet-care activities, including walking, bending, lifting pet supplies, cleaning pet areas, and spending time outdoors
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions consistently
- Reliable, punctual, and proactive communication
- Willingness to complete a background screening
- Availability for some combination of mornings, evenings, weekends, overnights, holidays, or peak travel periods

Preferred Experience
Prior professional pet-care experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate.
Preferred experience may include:
- Pet sitting or dog walking
- Veterinary, kennel, rescue, shelter, grooming, or animal-care work
- Dog training or animal behavior
- Caring for senior pets or multi-pet households
- Administering routine pet medications
- Experience safely handling dogs of different sizes and temperaments

Compensation & Schedule
- $15–$25+ per completed service, depending on service type
- Additional earning opportunities may be available for longer visits, overnight care, holiday services, and other qualifying assignments
- Client tips may provide additional earnings
- Flexible scheduling based on your submitted availability, service area, client demand, and the assignments you choose to accept
