Full Job Description

Company Overview
Gardenswartz and Associates is a accounting firm with a wide array of clients. We provide high-quality accounting, payroll and tax services so that our clients are able to focus on their business. We are based in Denver, Colorado.

Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing general accounting functions for a wide client base. This position is full-time. The Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager but will work with several members of the team to ensure accurate accounting and timely client service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Manage accounting for multiple clients across various industries
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end closing processes
Onboard new clients and establish appropriate procedures and tasks
Reconcile, research, and analyze balance sheet accounts
Maintain and clean up general ledgers, including miscoded transactions
Ensure financials are accurate, complete and delivered in a timely manner
Assist clients with appropriate accounting policies and procedures
Review and complete month end closing process for various clients
Process sales tax returns on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
Prepare annual 1099s
Utilize systems to create efficient and accurate processes for reporting and analysis
Communicate clearly and professionally regarding requests, questions and deliverables
Other duties as assigned
Preparation of tax returns, including S Corps (1120-S), C Corps (1120), Partnerships (1065), and Individuals (1040).
Tax research and analysis on varied topics under partner/manager direction.
Tax planning, projections, and strategy for business and individual clients.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field
1-5 years' experience in full cycle accounting
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures
Competency in QuickBooks, and payroll or HRIS software
Established skills in accuracy, organization and working in a high-volume environment
Experience working with multiple clients or entities preferred
Effective communication skills and ability to make decisions
Strong analytical skills and ability to deal effectively with ambiguity
Proven ability to work independently and coordinate with team members as necessary
Ability to apply discretion with confidential information

Pay: $65,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
