Blend Labs Rx is a fast-growing veterinary compounding pharmacy located in South Richmond Hill, Queens, NY. We specialize in preparing customized medications for animals when commercially available options may not meet a patient’s specific needs.
Our pharmacy operates in a modern, organized production environment and prepares a variety of compounded dosage forms, including tablets, capsules, suspensions, transdermal medications, and other customized preparations.

Job Summary
We are hiring a Compounding Pharmacy Technician to support our tablet manufacturing and general non-sterile compounding operations.
You do not need previous tablet press or compounding experience. We provide paid, hands-on training for the right candidate.
In this role, you will work directly with pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, and production team members to prepare customized medications according to established formulas and procedures. You will learn how to accurately weigh ingredients, prepare batches, operate tablet production equipment, document production steps, inspect finished products, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
This position requires strong attention to detail, comfort following written procedures, and the ability to perform repetitive production tasks accurately and consistently.
Key ResponsibilitiesCompounding & Production
- Prepare compounded medications according to approved formulas, procedures, and pharmacist instructions
- Accurately weigh, measure, and document active ingredients and excipients
- Perform calculations and verify quantities before beginning production
- Assist with blending and preparing materials for tablet production
- Operate and monitor tablet press equipment after completing training
- Adjust and monitor equipment within established procedures to maintain consistent tablet production
- Assist with other non-sterile compounding processes as needed
- Follow established workflows to help meet daily production goals
Tablet Manufacturing
- Set up tablet production equipment according to established procedures
- Load prepared materials into tablet press equipment
- Monitor tablet production throughout each batch
- Inspect tablets for appearance, weight, consistency, and other required quality checks
- Identify production irregularities and immediately notify a pharmacist or supervisor
- Document production results accurately
- Assist with tablet press cleaning, breakdown, reassembly, and routine maintenance
- Help maintain an organized tablet production area
Quality & Documentation
- Maintain complete and accurate compounding and batch records
- Follow pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Perform required in-process checks during production
- Verify ingredient lot numbers, expiration dates, and quantities
- Complete documentation in real time rather than relying on memory
- Report discrepancies, errors, damaged materials, or equipment concerns immediately
- Follow pharmacist instructions regarding quality control and final product review
- Understand that accuracy and documentation are essential parts of every compounded preparation
Cleaning & Equipment Maintenance
- Clean and sanitize compounding equipment between batches
- Follow established cleaning procedures to help prevent cross-contamination
- Maintain clean work surfaces, tools, scales, equipment, and production areas
- Properly store cleaned equipment and supplies
- Complete required cleaning logs and documentation
- Assist with routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance
- Notify management of equipment problems or maintenance needs
Inventory & Material Handling
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and stocking ingredients and supplies
- Monitor inventory levels of commonly used materials
- Check expiration dates and lot numbers
- Follow proper storage requirements for ingredients and supplies
- Help maintain organized inventory and production areas
- Notify supervisors when supplies or ingredients are running low
QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong basic math skills, including measurements, decimals, fractions, and percentages
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to follow written instructions, formulas, and procedures exactly
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Comfortable working with machinery and production equipment
- Comfortable standing for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy
- Ability to work independently after training while also functioning as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills
- Willingness to learn pharmacy and compounding terminology
- Comfortable working in a structured production environment with established procedures
Preferred
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, compounding pharmacy, laboratory, manufacturing facility, production environment, or similar setting
- Pharmacy Technician experience
- Experience weighing or measuring ingredients
- Familiarity with tablet manufacturing or pharmaceutical production
- Experience working in an ISO-controlled or clean manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with GMP-style documentation and production practices
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification is a plus
- Experience operating manufacturing or production equipment is a plus
Previous compounding or tablet press experience is not required. Paid training will be provided.

Training & Development
Blend Labs Rx provides paid on-the-job training.
Depending on experience, training may include:
- Pharmacy compounding fundamentals
- Ingredient weighing and measurement
