Full Job Description

About Us: GT Tax & Accounting, APC is a dynamic and growing firm specializing in accounting, tax preparation, and financial consulting services for individuals and small businesses. We provide our clients with tailored financial solutions and are committed to helping them achieve their financial goals. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting and Tax Intern to join our team and gain valuable hands-on experience in the accounting and tax industry.

Key Responsibilities:
As an Accounting and Tax Intern, you will:

Assist in preparing individual and business tax returns (Forms 1040, 1120, 1065, etc.)
Support with data entry and reconciliation of accounts
Aid in bookkeeping tasks such as categorizing expenses and income using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
Conduct research on various tax-related topics and current legislation
Assist in organizing financial documents and records
Help prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Collaborate with senior accountants and tax professionals on special projects
Maintain accurate records of client interactions and tasks
Learn and apply tax law and accounting principles in real-world scenarios
Perform general administrative tasks related to tax filings and accounting functions

Qualifications:

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Basic understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and Google Suite
Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, etc.) is a plus
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
