Position Overview: Comprehensive Care Services is looking for an ECLS Specialist in the Orange County, CA area. This position performs and supports Extra-Corporeal Life Support (ECLS)/Extra-Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) procedures under the supervision of the Director and/or ECLS Coordinator of Perfusion Services. Assists in the management and monitoring of ECLS patients by collaborating with physicians and the healthcare team to support patient assessment, treatment implementation, complication management, and overall patient care while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities: Prepare, operate, and monitor ECLS/ECMO equipment during scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency procedures in the hospital setting. Assist with patient assessment, interpret physician orders, and monitor for metabolic or respiratory abnormalities, promptly communicating any changes in patient condition to the care team. Perform extracorporeal therapies within scope of training and ensure accurate documentation of procedures, patient data, and billing information. Maintain readiness for patient care by adhering to scheduling requirements and being accessible while on duty. Support quality care by maintaining equipment and supplies, assisting with departmental records and reports, participating in quality improvement activities, and complying with all organizational policies, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications: Must hold one of the following credentials: Certified or board-eligible Cardiovascular Perfusionist through the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP), Respiratory Therapist certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC), Registered Nurse (RN), or a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from an ACGME or WFME/FAIMER approved medical school. Candidates must be in good standing with the applicable certifying body and have specialized training in ECLS, including successful completion of institutional ECLS specialist training requirements.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $165,000 / based on experience
