Full Job Description

Albany Law School invites applications for a collaborative and strategic Director of Facilities & Administrative Services to lead campus facilities, operations, and administrative services functions. Reporting to the Vice President for Finance & Business, the Director provides leadership and operational oversight to support a safe, efficient, and service-oriented campus environment aligned with the Law School’s mission and long-range goals.

Key Responsibilities

Lead campus facilities operations, administrative services, and related operational functions.
Oversee campus maintenance, renovation, sustainability, and capital improvement initiatives.
Manage departmental budgets, vendor relationships, construction-related contracts, and operational resources.
Partner with campus stakeholders to support facilities planning and operational needs.
Lead campus safety, environmental health, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance efforts.
Support physical security, telecommunications, transportation, and operational support services across campus.
Contribute to operational improvements and strategic institutional initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, construction management, engineering, business administration, operations, public administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in facilities, operations, construction management, or related areas.
Strong knowledge of facilities operations, project management, building systems, and operational planning.
Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and operational contracts.
Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and support collaborative problem-solving in a dynamic environment.
Knowledge of workplace safety, environmental health, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance practices preferred.
Experience utilizing business and operational technologies, including facilities planning or project management software such as AutoCAD, preferred.
Higher education, nonprofit, or campus operations experience preferred.

Compensation
The estimated salary range for this position is $95,000-$110,000 per year. The salary offered will be based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, and in consideration of internal equity. We offer a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental and vision insurance, employer paid disability and life insurance coverage, 5% retirement contribution, CDTA bus pass, and generous time off.
