Full Job Description

Role Summary

Our precision manufacturing plant in Elk Grove Village is looking for a seasoned Tool and Die Maker to become part of our team. If you are a talented tradesperson who excels at grinding and milling, enjoys hands-on technical work, and takes pride in producing high-precision components, this position offers a great environment for professional development and teamwork.

Core Duties

Configure and run manual grinding and milling equipment to manufacture dies and tools.
Analyze technical drawings, engineering schematics, and setup documentation to guide production.
Utilize calipers, micrometers, and various precision tools to verify part accuracy.
Help minimize downtime and maintain production quality by repairing and troubleshooting tooling issues.
Work alongside shop management and engineering teams to refine manufacturing processes and tooling designs.
Uphold strict documentation, 5S, and safety protocols to support a high-functioning shop floor.

Essential Requirements

Minimum of three years of practical experience in a Tool and Die capacity.
Demonstrated expertise in independent setup and operation of grinding and milling machinery.
Strong capability to decipher complex technical drawings and blueprints.
Advanced proficiency in utilizing precision measurement tools for quality control.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail.

Desired Skills

Background in die repair, metal forming, or stamping processes.
Knowledge of CAD/CAM software or tool and die design principles.
Experience working within AS9100D or ISO quality management frameworks.
Ability to operate CNC milling equipment in addition to manual machines.
Fluency in both Spanish and English is considered an asset.
